Notifications
Configure how and when you receive alerts about events in your SecureLink environment.
Email Notifications
Toggle email alerts for specific event categories. When enabled, you will receive an email whenever the corresponding event occurs.
| Category | Events |
|---|---|
| Device status changes | An edge device goes offline or comes back online |
| Configuration sync failures | A configuration push to an edge fails or times out |
| Security alerts | Suricata IDS/IPS detects a threat event |
| Certificate expiry warnings | A device or VPN certificate is approaching its expiry date |
Each category can be toggled independently. Disable categories you do not need to reduce email volume.
Email notifications require SMTP to be configured by your administrator. If you do not see email notification options, contact your administrator to enable outbound email for your deployment.
In-App Notifications
The bell icon in the top-right corner of the navigation bar provides real-time in-app notifications.
Viewing Notifications
- Click the bell icon to open the notifications panel.
- Each notification shows the event type, a brief description, and a timestamp.
- Click a notification to view its details and navigate to the relevant page (for example, clicking a device-offline alert takes you to that device's detail page).
Managing Notifications
- Mark as read -- Click the checkmark on an individual notification to mark it as read.
- Mark all as read -- Use the "Mark all as read" action at the top of the notification panel to clear all unread indicators.
- Read notifications remain available in the panel for reference until they age out.
Alert Thresholds
Some alerts support configurable thresholds that determine when a notification is triggered. These thresholds are managed by your administrator and may include:
- Offline duration -- How long a device must be unreachable before an offline alert is sent.
- Sync failure retries -- How many consecutive sync failures trigger a notification.
- Certificate expiry lead time -- How many days before expiry a warning is sent.
Alert thresholds are configured at the system level by administrators. To adjust thresholds, contact your administrator or see the Admin Guide for details.
